Riced Cauliflower Update, Hunts, Biena, Nice Sweet & Spicy Trail Mix, Mashgiach Jobs Available, Kosher Guide Advertisement Opportunity

Riced Cauliflower can be used for pizza base, pasta alternatives, and more. Trader Joe’s, Birdseye, and Green Giant brands of FROZEN PLAIN riced cauliflower do not need a hechsher on the label. All other brands and refrigerated/fresh riced cauliflower need certification. (CRC)
(This alert was originally posted on August 5th, but it had omitted the 3 acceptable brands listed above.)

Hunts: Many Hunts products are certified by the OK; but not all. For example: Huntโ€™s Tomato Sauce when sold in cans is certified and will have the OK symbol. The variety of tomato sauce which Huntโ€™s sells in a cardboard carton, is not certified. Check each product for the kosher symbol before purchasing.

Biena Aged White Cheddar Chickpea Puffs: The OU does not certify Biena Snacks White Cheddar Chickpea Puffs.  Multi-packs containing .6 oz. bags were produced with an unauthorized OU symbol on the outer packaging.  The individual bags do not bear the OU symbol.

Nice Sweet & Spicy Trail Mix: The OU certifies Nice Sweet & Spicy Trail Mix as an OU D – Dairy product.  This product contains dairy, as indicated in the ingredients and allergen statements.  Some packages were labeled with a plain OU symbol, without the D – Dairy designation.

There are Mashgiach Jobs available. Contact the AKC for more information.
